Corruption is a barrier to achieving prosperity. It reinforces and ultimately increases inequality by diverting funds from the most crucial social and economic institutions and services. Corruption is not limited to time or space, it reverberates and echoes, showing its devastating effects through generations.
We have seen how corruption has seeped through and eroded our own institutions as well as our society over the years. However, with evolving democracy and examples of accountability, this evil too can be defeated.
As responsible, aware citizens, it is our duty to take part in the fight against this crime. On this International Anti-Corruption Day, I would like to convey that the Investment Department, Government of Sindh stands with the global community against this social, moral and economic evil to achieve a prosperous and inclusive future for Sindh, Pakistan and for the rest of the world.
